In keeping with Kimberly’s theme of stone giants, I recreated the black and white scene, using a stone elephant the Madre bought me while we were in Thailand five years ago (wow, has it really been that long?).  In our culture, it’s considered good luck to have an elephant facing the front door of your home.*  I used to observe this only to keep my mother’s nagging at bay, but then I found myself setting up a little elephant in each new office and apartment.

If you’re wondering about the caption, chang is the Thai translation for elephant.

*Note: A raised trunk is clutch.  Having an elephant with its trunk down is pretty much asking for trouble.
