Northbrae Community Church

Unlike holiday window displays, stained glass windows are here to stay. With the help of Google, I was able to track down this unconventional window at the Northbrae Community Church in North Berkeley. What I liked most was that the church appeared so unassuming; you would have never guessed this stained glass window was hiding in the back.

Along the street front, the only visible building is a very bland concrete structure. You actually have to walk down the side street to find the chapel sitting behind it. And after even further digging, you’ll find the stained glass window hiding amongst trees and shrubbery. Unexpected finds like that make me inexplicably happy. I only wish the window was lit up so the vibrancy of the stained glass would stand out.
